In Thursday's league contest, the host Union Star Trojans basketball team scored a close 45-42 win over the DeKalb Tigers.
The Trojans (1-2) will now prepare for their contest against Gilman City (Gilman City, MO). The Hawks enter the non-league match with a 1-3 record. In their last match, Gilman City was nudged by Maysville (Maysville, MO), 58-42, in a non-league match.
The Tigers now own a 0-3 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Northland Christian for a non-league match on Tuesday, December 9. DeKalb will face a squad coming off a 66-25 non-league win over Heartland (Belton, MO). The record now stands at 2-0.
