Ontonagon Gladiators (Ontonagon, MI) backers were pleased Monday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the host L'Anse Purple Hornets (L'Anse, MI), 51-43 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Ontonagon upgrades its record to 1-0 on the campaign. The Gladiators host Watersmeet (Watersmeet, MI) to play the Nimrods in a Copper Mountain - Porcupine bout on Tuesday, December 13. The Nimrods come into the bout with a record of 1-0.

Next up, the Purple Hornets play the Houghton Gremlins (Houghton, MI) in a Western Peninsula bout, on Thursday, December 8. L'Anse will attempt to upgrade on its 0-1 season record.
