Russellville Golden Tigers (Russellville, AL) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Deshler Tigers (Tuscumbia, AL), 85-80 in a non-league bout.
With the win, Russellville upgrades its record to 2-0 on the season. The Golden Tigers host Brewer (Somerville, AL) to play the Patriots in a 5A Area 15 bout on Friday, December 8. The Patriots go into the bout with a record of 3-7. Brewer lost 46-36 in their recent non-league bout against Decatur (Decatur, AL)
Next up, the Tigers play the Central Wildcats (Florence, AL) in a 4A Area 16 bout, on Friday, December 8. Deshler will attempt to upgrade on its 1-6 season record. The Wildcats go into the bout with a 1-3 record after their 56-39 league win over Wilson (Florence, AL).
