The Newman Central Catholic Comets basketball team (Sterling, IL), was overwhelmed 73-52 in Tuesday's league battle with the visiting Kewanee Boilermakers (Kewanee, IL)
The Boilermakers now possess a 4-3 record. They put it on the line next when they host Macomb for a non-league battle on Saturday, December 9. Kewanee will battle a Bombers team coming off a 57-56 league loss to Farmington (Farmington, IL). The Bombers record now stands at 6-1.
The Comets (4-3) will now prepare for their battle against Byron (Byron, IL). The Tigers come into the non-league battle with a 2-0 record. In their last battle, Byron trounced Eastland (Lanark, IL), 60-47, in a non-league battle.
