Sequoyah Chiefs (Canton, GA) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting River Ridge Knights (Woodstock, GA), 82-79 in a league bout.

With the victory, Sequoyah upgrades its record to 5-2 on the campaign. The Chiefs travel to Lanier (Sugar Hill, GA) to play the Longhorns in a non-league bout on Saturday, December 9. The Longhorns come into the bout with a record of 2-4. Lanier won 67-35 in their recent non-league bout against South Forsyth (Cumming, GA)

Next up, the Knights play the Creekview Grizzlies (Canton, GA) in a AAAAAA Region 6 bout, on Friday, December 8. River Ridge will attempt to upgrade on its 3-4 season record. The Grizzlies come into the bout with a 3-5 record after their 71-63 league win over Allatoona (Acworth, GA).
