The Newport Greyhounds basketball team (Newport, AR), was routed 69-15 in Tuesday's league battle with the host Melbourne Bearkatz (Melbourne, AR)
The Bearkatz now sport a 4-4 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Highland for a non-league battle on Thursday, December 7. Melbourne will battle a Rebels team coming off a 49-42 league loss to Pocahontas (Pocahontas, AR). The Rebels record now stands at 1-4.
The Greyhounds (1-8) will now prepare for their battle against Hoxie (Hoxie, AR). The Mustangs come into the 3A Region 2 battle with a 0-5 record. In their last battle, Hoxie was routed by Tuckerman (Tuckerman, AR), 64-39, in a league battle.
