In Thursday's league contest, the host Myrtle Hawks basketball team scored a close 66-61 triumph over the Jumpertown Cardinals.
The Hawks (3-1) will now prepare for their contest against West Union (Myrtle, MS). The Eagles go into the non-league contest with a 8-2 record. In their last contest, West Union nipped Ashland (Ashland, MS), 77-43, in a non-league contest.
In their next game, the Cardinals battle the Falkner Eagles (Falkner, MS) in a 1A Region 2 contest, on Tuesday, December 10. Jumpertown will attempt to better on its 5-5 season record. The Eagles go into the contest with a 3-2 record after their 68-59 non-league loss to Houlka (Houlka, MS).
