The Simpson Academy Cougars basketball team scored 57 points and limited the visiting Copiah Academy Colonels to 16 in the Cougars non-league triumph on Thursday.

The Cougars now possess a 13-1 record. They play next when they travel to East Rankin Academy for a MAIS 5A District 2 game on Tuesday, December 10.

With the loss, Copiah Academy falls to 2-11 on the campaign. The Colonels travel to Central Hinds Academy (Raymond, MS) to confront the Cougars in a non-league game on Saturday, December 7. The Cougars go into the game with a record of 5-6. Central Hinds Academy lost 63-28 in their recent non-league game against East Rankin Academy (Pelahatchie, MS)
