The crowd at Thursday's non-league challenge between the Smith Mountain Lake Christian Academy Ospreys (Moneta, VA) and the visiting New Covenant Gryphons (Lynchburg, VA), observed Smith Mountain Lake Christian Academy's basketball team knock off New Covenant by a score of 19-7.

The Ospreys (3-0) will now prepare for their challenge against Westover Christian Academy (Danville, VA). The Bulldogs come into the challenge with a 2-1 record. In their last challenge, Westover Christian Academy prevailed over Freshman Opponent (, ), 41-16, in a non-league challenge.

In their next game, the Gryphons battle the Temple Christian Crusaders (Madison Heights, VA) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, December 17. New Covenant will attempt to improve on its 0-1 season record.
