In Friday's non-league contest, the host Bowie Pirates basketball team scored a big 57-14 triumph over the Sulphur Bluff Bears.

The Pirates (5-3) will now prepare for their contest against Bloomburg (Bloomburg, TX). The Wildcats go into the non-league contest with a 7-4 record. In their last contest, Bloomburg overwhelmed Mount Vernon (Mount Vernon, TX), 55-53, in a non-league match.

The Bears now own a 2-3 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Harts Bluff for a non-league match on Tuesday, December 9. Sulphur Bluff will face a Bulldogs squad coming off a 48-46 non-league loss to Prairiland (Pattonville, TX). The Bulldogs record now stands at 8-5.
