The Civic Memorial Eagles (Bethalto, IL) basketball tipped the host Jersey Panthers (Jerseyville, IL), 50-43 in Friday's league challenge.

The Eagles (2-3) will now prepare for their challenge against Southwestern (Piasa, IL). The Piasa Birds come into the non-league challenge with a 1-5 record. In their last challenge, Southwestern was tipped by Calhoun (Hardin, IL), 55-50, in a non-league battle.

The Panthers now own a 1-4 record. They put it on the line next when they host Centralia for a non-league battle on Tuesday, December 9. Jersey will meet a Orphans squad coming off a 68-30 non-league win over Mattoon (Mattoon, IL). The Orphans record now stands at 6-0.
