The Clare Pioneers basketball squad (Clare, MI), was nudged 26-25 in Friday's league match with the visiting Shepherd Bluejays (Shepherd, MI)

With the victory, Shepherd advances its record to 2-1 on the year. The Bluejays travel to Beal City (Mt. Pleasant, MI) to meet the Aggies in a non-league match on Monday, December 8. The Aggies enter the match with a record of 0-0.

The Pioneers now have a 0-2 record. They play next when they travel to Ogemaw Heights for a Jack Pine contest on Wednesday, December 10. Clare will face a Falcons squad coming off a 53-51 league win over Standish-Sterling (Standish, MI). The Falcons record now stands at 2-0.
