Texas High School Basketball - Vela routs Pioneer

In Friday's non-league contest, the host Vela Sabercats basketball team scored a big 54-30 triumph over the Pioneer Diamondbacks.

The Sabercats (14-4) will now prepare for their contest against Pioneer (Mission, TX). The Diamondbacks go into the 5A Region IV District 31 contest with a 9-9 record. In their last match, Pioneer was overwhelmed by Sharyland (Mission, TX), 60-27, in a non-league match.

The Diamondbacks now sport a 9-9 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Sharyland for a non-league contest on Saturday, December 6. Pioneer will confront a Rattlers team coming off a 67-43 non-league win over Rio Grande City (Rio Grande City, TX). The Rattlers record now stands at 16-2.
