Byers Lions (Holly Springs, MS) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Blue Mountain Cougars (Blue Mountain, MS), 60-46 in a league bout.

With the win, Byers upgrades its record to 3-1 on the season. The Lions host Coldwater (Coldwater, MS) to clash with the Cougars in a 1A Region 3 bout on Friday, December 9. The Cougars go into the bout with a record of 2-3.

Next up, the Cougars clash with the Belmont Cardinals (Belmont, MS) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, December 13. Blue Mountain will attempt to upgrade on its 5-3 season record.
