Century Centurions (Ullin, IL) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Egyptian Pharaohs (Tamms, IL), 59-54 in a league bout.

With the victory, Century upgrades its record to 3-4 on the campaign. The Centurions host Meridian (Mounds, IL) to play the Bobcats in a South Egyptian bout on Friday, December 9. The Bobcats come into the bout with a record of 4-2. Meridian won 81-31 in their recent league bout against Dongola (Dongola, IL)

Next up, the Pharaohs play the Crab Orchard Trojans (Marion, IL) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, December 8. Egyptian will attempt to upgrade on its 0-5 season record. The Trojans come into the bout with a 5-1 record after their 58-54 league win over Gallatin County (Junction, IL).
