The Wheelersburg Pirates basketball team scored 51 points and held the visiting Waverly Tigers to 38 in the Pirates league triumph on Tuesday.
The Pirates now sport a 1-0 record. They put it on the line next when they host South Webster for a Southern Ohio II contest on Friday, December 9. Wheelersburg will battle a Jeeps team coming off a 54-43 league win over Portsmouth West (West Portsmouth, OH). The Jeeps record now stands at 2-0.
The Tigers (0-2) will now prepare for their contest against Northwest (McDermott, OH). The Mohawks enter the Southern Ohio II contest with a 2-1 record. In their last contest, Northwest was defeated by Valley (Lucasville, OH), 58-46, in a league contest.
