Gouverneur Wildcats (Gouverneur, NY) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Canton Golden Bears (Canton, NY), 31-29 in a league bout.

With the victory, Gouverneur upgrades its record to 2-0 on the campaign. The Wildcats host Norwood-Norfolk (Norwood, NY) to play the Flyers in a non-league bout on Friday, December 9. The Flyers come into the bout with a record of 0-1. Norwood-Norfolk lost 41-35 in their recent non-league bout against Potsdam (Potsdam, NY)

Next up, the Golden Bears play the Ogdensburg Free Academy Blue Devils (Ogdensburg, NY) in a Section 10 Central bout, on Friday, December 9. Canton will attempt to upgrade on its 0-1 season record. The Blue Devils come into the bout with a 2-1 record after their 64-52 non-league win over Lisbon Central (Lisbon, NY).
