Deep Creek Hornets (Chesapeake, VA) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Great Bridge Wildcats (Chesapeake, VA), 48-43 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Deep Creek upgrades its record to 1-0 on the campaign. The Hornets travel to Peninsula Catholic (Newport News, VA) to play the Knights in a non-league bout on Saturday, December 10. The Knights come into the bout with a record of 1-1. Peninsula Catholic lost 42-35 in their recent non-league bout against Brunswick Academy (Lawrenceville, VA)

Next up, the Wildcats play the Grassfield Grizzlies (Chesapeake, VA) in a bout, on Friday, December 9. Great Bridge will attempt to upgrade on its 0-1 season record. The Grizzlies come into the bout with a 0-1 record after their 71-38 non-league loss to Oscar Smith (Chesapeake, VA).
