Mathews Blue Devils (Mathews, VA) backers were in high spirits Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Northampton Yellowjackets (Eastville, VA), 36-16 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Mathews upgrades its record to 2-2 on the season. The Blue Devils host Lancaster (Lancaster, VA) to play the Red Devils in a non-league bout on Wednesday, December 6. The Red Devils go into the bout with a record of 1-0. Lancaster won 44-24 in their recent non-league bout against Northampton (Eastville, VA)

Next up, the Yellowjackets play the West Point Pointers (West Point, VA) in a non-league bout, on Monday, December 11. Northampton will attempt to upgrade on its 0-4 season record. The Pointers go into the bout with a 2-2 record after their 41-40 league loss to King & Queen Central (King & Queen Court House, VA).
