The Athens Golden Eagles basketball team scored 49 points and limited the visiting Decatur Red Raiders to 47 in the Golden Eagles league triumph on Friday.
The Golden Eagles now possess a 6-1 record. They play next when they travel to Hartselle for a 6A Area 15 game on Tuesday, December 10.
With the loss, Decatur falls to 6-8 on the campaign. The Red raiders travel to West Morgan (Trinity, AL) to play the Rebels in a non-league game on Monday, December 9. The Rebels go into the game with a record of 1-3.
