The crowd at Friday's non-league challenge between the Newton Tigers (Newton, MS) and the host Forest Bearcats (Forest, MS), observed Newton's basketball team knock off Forest by a score of 38-27.

The Tigers (6-2) will now prepare for their challenge against Kemper County (DeKalb, MS). The Wildcats come into the non-league test with a 9-3 record. In their last test, Kemper County overcame Newton County (Decatur, MS), 42-30, in a non-league test.

The Bearcats (3-3) will now prepare for their test against Scott Central (Forest, MS). The Rebels come into the non-league test with a 2-4 record. In their last test, Scott Central went down by Union (Union, MS), 39-34, in a non-league test.
