In Friday's league contest, the host Grant County co-op [Carson/Elgin-New Leipzig/Mott-Regent] basketball team scored a close 59-53 triumph over the Hettinger/Scranton Black Devils.

The (2-0) will now prepare for their contest against Beach (Beach, ND). The Buccaneers go into the B District 7 contest with a 0-1 record.

In their next game, the Black Devils confront the Central McLean [Turtle Lake-Mercer/Underwood/McClusky] Cougars (Turtle Lake, ND) in a non-league contest, on Monday, December 9. Hettinger/Scranton will attempt to better on its 0-1 season record. The Cougars go into the contest with a 1-0 record after their 53-23 non-league win over Flasher (Flasher, ND).
