In Friday's league contest, the host Sanford Spartans basketball team scored a big 64-28 win over the Thornton Academy Trojans.

The Spartans (1-0) will now prepare for their contest against Edward Little (Auburn, ME). The Red Eddies come into the non-league contest with a 0-1 record. In their last contest, Edward Little was trounced by Oxford Hills (South Paris, ME), 46-40, in a league contest.

In their next game, the Trojans battle the Massabesic Mustangs (Waterboro, ME) in a AA South contest, on Tuesday, December 10. Thornton Academy will attempt to better on its 0-1 season record. The Mustangs come into the contest with a 0-1 record after their 60-22 non-league loss to Biddeford (Biddeford, ME).
