Fans at Tuesday's non-league challenge between the Centralia Orphans (Centralia, IL) and the host Jersey Panthers (Jerseyville, IL), saw Centralia's basketball squad hold off Jersey by a tally of 50-45.
With the victory, Centralia improves its record to 6-0 on the campaign. The Orphans host Mt. Vernon (Mt. Vernon, IL) to confront the Rams in a South Seven challenge on Friday, December 10. The Rams come into the challenge with a record of 4-2. Mt. Vernon lost 67-66 in their recent non-league challenge against Belleville East (Belleville, IL)
Next up, the Panthers confront the Highland Bulldogs (Highland, IL) in a Mississippi Valley challenge, on Friday, December 10. Jersey will attempt to improve on its 5-2 season record. The Bulldogs come into the challenge with a 0-3 record after their 62-60 non-league loss to Robinson (Robinson, IL).
