La Cueva Bears (Albuquerque, NM) backers were in high spirits Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Volcano Vista Hawks (Albuquerque, NM), 83-73 in a non-league bout.

With the win, La Cueva upgrades its record to 1-0 on the season. The Bears host Highland (Albuquerque, NM) to clash with the Hornets in a non-league bout on Friday, December 9. The Hornets go into the bout with a record of 1-3. Highland lost 69-47 in their recent non-league bout against Sandia (Albuquerque, NM)

Next up, the Hawks clash with the Del Norte Knights (Albuquerque, NM) in a non-league bout, on Friday, December 16. Volcano Vista will attempt to upgrade on its 3-1 season record. The Knights go into the bout with a 1-1 record after their 25-22 non-league loss to Manzano (Albuquerque, NM).
