The Prince Edward County Eagles (Farmville, VA) basketball crushed the visiting Nelson County Governors (Lovingston, VA), 56-28 in Wednesday's non-league test.

The Eagles (3-0) will now prepare for their test against Buckingham (Buckingham, VA). The Knights go into the James River test with a 2-1 record. In their last test, Buckingham was trounced by Fluvanna County (Palmyra, VA), 63-42, in a non-league test.

The Governors now own a 1-4 record. They put it on the line next when they host Chatham for a Dogwood battle on Tuesday, December 13. Nelson County will confront a Cavaliers team coming off a 46-38 non-league loss to Glass (Lynchburg, VA). The Cavaliers record now stands at 4-1.
