Thomas Jefferson Gryphons (Mooresboro, NC) backers were in high spirits Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Asheville Cougars (Asheville, NC), 49-44 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Thomas Jefferson upgrades its record to 4-0 on the season. The Gryphons travel to Owen (Black Mountain, NC) to play the Warhorses in a non-league bout on Friday, December 9. The Warhorses go into the bout with a record of 0-6. Owen lost 39-34 in their recent non-league bout against Polk County (Columbus, NC)

Next up, the Cougars play the Hendersonville Bearcats (Hendersonville, NC) in a non-league bout, on Monday, December 12. Asheville will attempt to upgrade on its 1-1 season record. The Bearcats go into the bout with a 0-4 record after their 61-30 non-league loss to North Henderson (Hendersonville, NC).
