Merritt Oilers (Elk City, OK) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Mooreland Bearcats (Mooreland, OK), 50-39 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Merritt upgrades its record to 2-1 on the season. The Oilers travel to Canute (Canute, OK) to clash with the Trojans in a Five County bout on Friday, December 8. The Trojans go into the bout with a record of 9-0. Canute won 88-39 in their recent non-league bout against Sayre (Sayre, OK)

Next up, the Bearcats clash with the Sayre Eagles (Sayre, OK) in a non-league bout, on Friday, December 8. Mooreland will attempt to upgrade on its 1-2 season record. The Eagles go into the bout with a 0-3 record after their 88-39 non-league loss to Canute (Canute, OK).
