    • North Carolina High School Basketball - Newton-Conover overwhelmed by Ashe County

    The Ashe County Huskies basketball team scored 54 points and restricted the visiting Newton-Conover Red Devils to 20 in the Huskies non-league victory on Thursday.

    The Huskies now sport a 3-3 record. They put it on the line next when they host West Wilkes for a non-league contest on Friday, December 8. Ashe County will battle a Blackhawks team coming off a 63-56 non-league win over Starmount (Boonville, NC). The Blackhawks record now stands at 3-2.

    The Red Devils (0-4) will now prepare for their contest against Hibriten (Lenoir, NC). The Panthers come into the non-league contest with a 4-0 record. In their last contest, Hibriten triumphed over Wilkes Central (Wilkesboro, NC), 65-25, in a non-league contest.
