Elk Point-Jefferson Huskies (Elk Point, SD) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Canton C-Hawks (Canton, SD), 49-37 in a league bout.

With the win, Elk Point-Jefferson upgrades its record to 1-0 on the season. The Huskies travel to Madison (Madison, SD) to play the Bulldogs in a non-league bout on Saturday, December 9. The Bulldogs go into the bout with a record of 0-1. Madison lost 45-31 in their recent league bout against Dell Rapids (Dell Rapids, SD)

Next up, the C-Hawks play the Garretson Blue Dragons (Garretson, SD) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, December 12. Canton will attempt to upgrade on its 0-2 season record. The Blue Dragons go into the bout with a 2-1 record after their 55-51 non-league win over Chester (Chester, SD).
