Madison County Mountaineers (Madison, VA) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host William Monroe Dragons (Stanardsville, VA), 54-52 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Madison County upgrades its record to 1-3 on the season. The Mountaineers travel to Orange County (Orange, VA) to play the Fighting Hornets in a non-league bout on Wednesday, December 13. The Fighting Hornets go into the bout with a record of 4-1.

Next up, the Dragons play the Rappahannock County (Washington, VA) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, December 9. William Monroe will attempt to upgrade on its 1-2 season record. The go into the bout with a 0-1 record after their 39-37 non-league loss to Riverheads (Staunton, VA).
