In Saturday's non-league contest, the visiting Cherokee Indians basketball team scored a close 37-30 triumph over the Brookesmith Mustangs.

The Indians (5-1) will now prepare for their contest against Lometa (Lometa, TX). The Hornets go into the 1A Region IV District 25 contest with a 0-6 record. In their last contest, Lometa was tipped by Santa Anna (Santa Anna, TX), 48-26, in a non-league contest.

In their next game, the Mustangs confront the Mullin Bulldogs (Mullin, TX) in a 1A Region IV District 25 contest, on Tuesday, December 10. Brookesmith will attempt to better on its 7-4 season record. The Bulldogs go into the contest with a 1-5 record after their 44-17 non-league loss to Rochelle (Rochelle, TX).
