The Laney Wildcats (Augusta, GA) basketball edged the host Hephzibah Rebels (Hephzibah, GA), 59-57 in Saturday's non-league bout.

The Wildcats now possess a 5-1 record. They play next when they travel to Putnam County for a non-league bout on Tuesday, December 10. Laney will play a War Eagles team coming off a 48-45 non-league loss to Dodge County (Eastman, GA). The War Eagles record now stands at 6-3.

With the loss, Hephzibah falls to 0-6 on the campaign. The Rebels travel to Aquinas (Augusta, GA) to play the Fightin' Irish in a AAA Region 4 bout on Tuesday, December 10. The Fightin' Irish go into the bout with a record of 3-3.
