Lanier Poets (Montgomery, AL) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the host Central Lions (Hayneville, AL), 71-43 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Lanier upgrades its record to 7-4 on the season. The Poets travel to Lee (Montgomery, AL) to clash with the Generals in a non-league bout on Friday, December 9. The Generals go into the bout with a record of 5-1. Lee won 70-57 in their recent non-league bout against Lanier (Montgomery, AL)

Next up, the Lions clash with the Luverne Tigers (Luverne, AL) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, December 13. Central will attempt to upgrade on its 0-3 season record. The Tigers go into the bout with a 0-2 record after their 67-50 non-league loss to Calhoun (Letohatchee, AL).
