Sugar-Salem Diggers (Sugar City, ID) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Shelley Russets (Shelley, ID), 54-43 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Sugar-Salem upgrades its record to 2-0 on the season. The Diggers host Snake River (Blackfoot, ID) to clash with the Panthers in a non-league bout on Tuesday, December 13. The Panthers go into the bout with a record of 4-0. Snake River won 54-53 in their recent non-league bout against Buhl (Buhl, ID)

Next up, the Russets clash with the Preston Indians (Preston, ID) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, December 15. Shelley will attempt to upgrade on its 1-2 season record. The Indians go into the bout with a 4-1 record after their 84-58 non-league loss to Hillcrest (Idaho Falls, ID).
