Florien Blackcats (Florien, LA) backers were pleased Thursday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Negreet Indians (Negreet, LA), 27-23 in a league bout.

With the victory, Florien upgrades its record to 7-1 on the campaign. The Blackcats travel to Zwolle (Zwolle, LA) to play the Hawks in a B District 3 bout on Saturday, December 10. The Hawks come into the bout with a record of 9-4. Zwolle won 72-39 in their recent non-league bout against Ebarb (Noble, LA)

Next up, the Indians play the Logansport Tigers (Logansport, LA) in a non-league bout, on Friday, December 9. Negreet will attempt to upgrade on its 3-7 season record. The Tigers come into the bout with a 0-2 record after their 72-33 non-league loss to Zwolle (Zwolle, LA).
