The Vandalia Vandals basketball team scored 55 points and held the host Litchfield Purple Panthers to 23 in the Vandals league triumph on Thursday.

The Vandals now sport a 6-3 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Staunton for a South Central contest on Monday, December 12. Vandalia will play a Bulldogs squad coming off a 79-77 league loss to Pana (Pana, IL). The Bulldogs record now stands at 7-1.

Next up, the Purple Panthers play the Hillsboro Hiltoppers (Hillsboro, IL) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, December 10. Litchfield will attempt to upgrade on its 1-8 season record. The Hiltoppers go into the bout with a 4-5 record after their 50-17 league win over Carlinville (Carlinville, IL).
