Ohio High School Basketball - Wellston can't hold off Athens

The Athens Bulldogs basketball team scored 57 points and held the visiting Wellston Golden Rockets to 53 in the Bulldogs league triumph on Friday.
The Bulldogs now sport a 1-2 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Meigs for a Tri-Valley I contest on Tuesday, December 12. Athens will battle a Marauders team coming off a 70-60 league loss to Vinton County (McArthur, OH). The Marauders record now stands at 1-2.
The Golden Rockets (0-3) will now prepare for their contest against Alexander (Albany, OH). The Spartans enter the Tri-Valley I contest with a 0-3 record. In their last contest, Alexander was nudged by Nelsonville-York (Nelsonville, OH), 59-34, in a league contest.
