Augusta Beavers (Augusta, WI) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Eleva-Strum Cardinals (Strum, WI), 48-44 in a league bout.

With the victory, Augusta upgrades its record to 1-3 on the campaign. The Beavers host Melrose-Mindoro (Melrose, WI) to play the Mustangs in a Dairyland - Large bout on Thursday, December 14. The Mustangs come into the bout with a record of 2-2. Melrose-Mindoro lost 83-76 in their recent league bout against Whitehall (Whitehall, WI)

Next up, the Cardinals play the Blair-Taylor Wildcats (Blair, WI) in a Dairyland - Large bout, on Tuesday, December 19. Eleva-Strum will attempt to upgrade on its 0-4 season record.
