The Kalamazoo Central Maroon Giants basketball team scored 61 points and held the host Central Bearcats to 30 in the Maroon Giants league triumph on Friday.

The Maroon Giants now sport a 1-0 record. They put it on the line next when they host Mattawan for a non-league contest on Tuesday, December 12. Kalamazoo Central will battle a Wildcats team coming off a 71-59 non-league win over Norrix (Kalamazoo, MI). The Wildcats record now stands at 3-0.

The Bearcats (0-2) will now prepare for their contest against Portage Northern (Portage, MI). The Huskies enter the non-league contest with a 1-1 record. In their last contest, Portage Northern was routed by Portage Central (Portage, MI), 62-54, in a league contest.
