Gilmer Bobcats (Ellijay, GA) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Dawson County Tigers (Dawsonville, GA), 72-70 in a league bout.

With the win, Gilmer upgrades its record to 4-2 on the season. The Bobcats host Fannin County (Blue Ridge, GA) to clash with the Rebels in a non-league bout on Saturday, December 9. The Rebels go into the bout with a record of 3-2. Fannin County won 75-29 in their recent non-league bout against Southeast Whitfield County (Dalton, GA)

Next up, the Tigers clash with the Pickens Dragons (Jasper, GA) in a AAA Region 7 bout, on Tuesday, December 12. Dawson County will attempt to upgrade on its 5-3 season record. The Dragons go into the bout with a 4-4 record after their 70-48 non-league win over Whitefield Academy (Mableton, GA).
