DeRuyter Rockets (DeRuyter, NY) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting McGraw Eagles (McGraw, NY), 67-52 in a league bout.

With the win, DeRuyter upgrades its record to 1-0 on the season. The Rockets travel to Cincinnatus Central (Cincinnatus, NY) to play the Lions in a Section 3 Central Counties bout on Wednesday, December 20. The Lions go into the bout with a record of 0-0.

Next up, the Eagles play the Stockbridge Valley Indians (Munnsville, NY) in a Section 3 Central Counties bout, on Thursday, December 14. McGraw will attempt to upgrade on its 1-1 season record.
