The Pioneer Diamondbacks basketball team scored 71 points and restricted the host Edcouch-Elsa Yellowjackets to 49 in the Diamondbacks non-league victory on Friday.

The Diamondbacks now sport a 8-7 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to San Benito for a non-league contest on Saturday, December 9. Pioneer will battle a Greyhounds team coming off a 66-48 non-league loss to Edcouch-Elsa (Edcouch, TX). The Greyhounds record now stands at 4-6.

The Yellowjackets (6-7) will now prepare for their contest against Donna North (Donna, TX). The Chiefs go into the 5A Region IV District 32 bout with a 1-12 record. In their last bout, Donna North overwhelmed Juarez-Lincoln (La Joya, TX), 49-48, in a non-league bout.
