Fans at Friday's league challenge between the South Portland Red Riots (South Portland, ME) and the host Gorham Rams (Gorham, ME), saw South Portland's basketball squad hold off Gorham by a count of 33-31.

With the victory, South Portland upgrades its record to 1-0 on the campaign. The Red Riots travel to Scarborough (Scarborough, ME) to play the Red Storm in a AA South challenge on Thursday, December 14. The Red Storm come into the challenge with a record of 1-0.

Next up, the Rams play the Greely Rangers (Cumberland Center, ME) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, December 12. Gorham will attempt to upgrade on its 0-2 season record. The Rangers come into the challenge with a 1-1 record after their 50-40 league loss to Westbrook (Westbrook, ME).
