The Linn-Mar Lions (Marion, IA) basketball nipped the host Xavier Saints (Cedar Rapids, IA), 62-59 in Friday's non-league test.
The Lions (4-0) will now prepare for their test against Prairie (Cedar Rapids, IA). The Hawks go into the Mississippi Valley test with a 1-2 record. In their last test, Prairie got by Burlington (Burlington, IA), 73-49, in a non-league test.
The Saints now own a 3-1 record. They play next when they travel to Hempstead for a Mississippi Valley test on Tuesday, December 12. Xavier will encounter a Mustangs squad coming off a 68-33 league loss to Dubuque Senior (Dubuque, IA). The Mustangs record now stands at 1-1.
