The Powell County Pirates (Stanton, KY) basketball knocked off the host Model Patriots (Richmond, KY), 70-53 in Friday's non-league test.
The Pirates (2-3) will now prepare for their test against Owsley County (Booneville, KY). The Owls / Lady Owls go into the District 56 test with a 0-4 record.
The Patriots now own a 1-4 record. They play next when they travel to Whitefield Academy for a non-league test on Saturday, December 9. Model will encounter a Wildcats squad coming off a 67-42 non-league loss to Holy Cross (Louisville, KY). The Wildcats record now stands at 1-2.
