The Newark Wildcats basketball team scored 41 points and held the host Pickerington Central Tigers to 35 in the Wildcats league triumph on Friday.
The Wildcats now sport a 2-0 record. They put it on the line next when they host Olentangy Berlin for a non-league contest on Friday, December 15. Newark will battle a Bears team coming off a 62-58 league loss to Olentangy (Lewis Center, OH). The Bears record now stands at 1-3.
The Tigers (1-1) will now prepare for their contest against Chaminade Julienne Catholic (Dayton, OH). The Eagles enter the non-league contest with a 1-1 record. In their last contest, Chaminade Julienne Catholic was nudged by Trotwood-Madison (Trotwood, OH), 61-41, in a non-league contest.
