Mackinaw City Comets (Mackinaw City, MI) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Ellsworth Lancers (Ellsworth, MI), 29-27 in a league bout.

With the victory, Mackinaw City upgrades its record to 1-0 on the campaign. The Comets travel to North Michigan Christian Academy (Burt Lake, MI) to play the Comets in a Northern Lakes bout on Tuesday, December 12. The Comets come into the bout with a record of 1-0.

Next up, the Lancers play the Wolverine Wildcats (Wolverine, MI) in a Northern Lakes bout, on Tuesday, December 12. Ellsworth will attempt to upgrade on its 0-1 season record. The Wildcats come into the bout with a 0-1 record after their 54-35 league loss to Harbor Light Christian (Harbor Springs, MI).
