Whitney Wildcats (Whitney, TX) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting Hico Tigers (Hico, TX), 43-34 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Whitney upgrades its record to 5-7 on the campaign. The Wildcats travel to China Spring (China Spring, TX) to play the Cougars in a non-league bout on Tuesday, December 12. The Cougars come into the bout with a record of 3-11. China Spring won 44-32 in their recent non-league bout against Covenant Christian (Conroe, TX)

Next up, the Tigers play the Tolar Rattlers (Tolar, TX) in a 2A Region II District 11 bout, on Friday, December 15. Hico will attempt to upgrade on its 1-14 season record. The Rattlers come into the bout with a 10-6 record after their 42-20 league win over Santo (Santo, TX).
