Machias Bulldogs (Machias, ME) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Jonesport-Beals Royals (Jonesport, ME), 49-47 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Machias upgrades its record to 1-0 on the season. The Bulldogs travel to Woodland (Baileyville, ME) to play the Dragons in a C North bout on Monday, December 11. The Dragons go into the bout with a record of 1-0. Woodland won 49-39 in their recent league bout against Narraguagus (Harrington, ME)

Next up, the Royals play the Narraguagus Knights (Harrington, ME) in a non-league bout, on Monday, December 11. Jonesport-Beals will attempt to upgrade on its 0-1 season record. The Knights go into the bout with a 0-1 record after their 49-39 league loss to Woodland (Baileyville, ME).
